Animal Homes Teacups [Limited Edition]
Animal Homes Teacups [Limited Edition]
A gorgeous pair of two cups from a very limited series of art teacups designed and printed by Jack Brutus Penny, in collaboration with Japanese potter Miho Hanyu.
Originally only 5 sets produced for sale, this limited edition series is a wonderfully creative blend of different worlds. They depict the badger, a common English animal with its litter of cubs and homely sett, and the Japanese shiba dog, with two playful pups and a 'doghouse' modelled after Japanese shrines. But only when put together is each image fully exposed, showing how what is real and normal for some, and fantastical and nonsensical for others, is only based on perspective. Printed upon hand crafted Japanese pottery, with traditionally white glazed light clay, these cups were home baked and took approximately six months to produce.
As the cups are each hand made, the dimensions and forms differ on each one, making each a unique piece. They are designed as works of art to be appreciated as well as functional products for use. In addition, upholding our strong belief in environmentally friendly practices, all production materials, processes and packaging are created in the greenest ways possible.
Height approximately 7cm (2.8")
Rim diameter 6.5cm (2.6")
